Welcome to the Evangeline Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP)!
I-A-A-P. Over the past four years, being associated with these four little letters has changed my life, both personally and professionally. I am a believer in this organization.
I have been able to practice my administrative skills among people who encourage me and offer advice and support.
Networking, both locally and across Canada, has provided me with many new friends and opportunities. I owe my current position in part to networking with other administrative professionals.
Continuing education has kept me at the top of my game in the workplace; I credit IAAP when I achieve a goal or receive recognition for my work.
My question to you is this: are you looking for the same network of friends and supporters of your career? Do you want to expand your horizons and increase your knowledge, putting yourself at the top of your company? Consider joining IAAP! The Evangeline chapter, based out of Kentville, has members working in government, education, healthcare, the legal sector, and more!
I invite you to attend a chapter meeting and see what we are all about. We will be meeting on the second Tuesday of every month beginning in October. Additionally, consider joining the four Eastern Canada Division chapters, from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland, on September 14 for “Leadership Boot Camp: Leading Without Authority!” located at the KC Irving Centre at Acadia University.
The Evangeline chapter will be celebrating nine years chartered this coming November, and on April 25, 2014 we will be hosting our tenth Administrative Professionals’ Symposium, in celebration of Administrative Professionals Week. Come out for a full day of professional development, networking, great food, and a little bit of fun (okay, a lot of fun)!
If you have questions about our chapter, upcoming events, or even better, how to become a member of IAAP, please contact us. We would be thrilled to open this door for you, and you’ll be happy you walked through it!
President, IAAP-Evangeline 2013-2014
